01
What makes a diesel generator silent?
A silent generator uses a lined steel canopy, controlled cooling-air paths and an appropriate exhaust silencer to reduce mechanical, combustion and airflow noise. No industrial generator is literally silent, so the required sound level and measurement distance should be confirmed at the start of the project.
02
Acoustic generators for outdoor and sensitive locations
Soundproof generator sets can reduce disturbance while providing dependable standby or prime power. The enclosure must still provide enough airflow for cooling and combustion, safe exhaust discharge, fuel-system access and room for routine servicing.
- Commercial and hospitality premises
- Farms, workshops and rural sites
- Schools, offices and healthcare support locations
- Industrial sites with boundary-noise requirements
03
Specify noise performance in context
Required sound pressure should be stated in dB(A) at a defined distance, together with the site layout and operating load. Barriers, buildings, reflective surfaces, airflow openings and exhaust routing can materially change the sound experienced at the site boundary.
